Updated: 3 days ago

Training Session with Mr. Daudi

Mr. Daudi, popularly known as “Jembe,” hails from Lihangano Street. He is a specialist in fruit budding and was invited on Saturday, 7th February 2026, to train young people on effective fruit budding techniques. His session included both theoretical instruction and practical demonstrations.

In the photo, he is seen guiding participants through hands-on practice. This approach allowed the youth to engage directly with the techniques being taught. Practical learning is essential for skill acquisition, especially in agricultural practices like fruit budding.

The Director of Lugarawa Youth Foundation also participated in the training. He successfully practiced budding on avocado and mango trees, showcasing the skills learned during the session.

We sincerely thank Mr. Daudi for his voluntary contribution and dedication to sharing his knowledge with the youth. His efforts are vital in helping young people gain practical skills that can lead to self-employment and improved livelihoods.

The Importance of Practical Skills

In today's world, practical skills are more important than ever. Many young people face challenges such as unemployment and a lack of opportunities. By learning skills like fruit budding, they can create their own pathways to success.

Understanding Fruit Budding

Fruit budding is a horticultural technique that involves inserting a bud from one plant into another. This method is crucial for propagating fruit trees. It allows for the growth of new trees that bear fruit similar to the parent plant.

Benefits of Learning Fruit Budding

Learning fruit budding offers numerous benefits:

  1. Self-Employment Opportunities: Young people can start their own nurseries or farms.

  2. Food Security: By growing their own fruits, they contribute to local food supply.

  3. Community Development: As they succeed, they can help others in their community.

The Role of Organizations

Organizations like Lugarawa Youth Foundation play a crucial role in empowering youth. They provide training and resources that help young people overcome socio-economic challenges. By focusing on skill development, these organizations foster a responsible and self-aware generation.

Conclusion

Empowering Tanzanian youth through practical skills like fruit budding is essential for their development. It not only helps them become self-sufficient but also contributes positively to their communities. The training session with Mr. Daudi is a step in the right direction.
